Human body is transient
tana kā bharosā nahiṃ goviṃda rādhe ।
yāte kṣaṇa kṣaṇa mana hari meṃ lagā de ॥
Generally, 99% of people in the world do not even know who they are, why they have received this human body, or how to free themselves from the bondage of maya. And those who do possess this knowledge do not deeply reflect on the reality that this body - of which we are so proud - can be lost in an instant, without any prior notice.
antakāle ca māmeva smaranmuktvā kalevaram - You will attain the one to whom your mind is attached at the time of death.
Always realize and practice remembering the fact that your body is temporary. At the same time, you must also think about the welfare of the soul. Reflect on the fact that you may not be alive the very next moment. Just as you strive to remember God, you must also remember the impermanence of this body at all times. If you sincerely reflect upon this fact and keep it constantly in mind, you will not be careless. This awareness will alert you whenever your thoughts begin to wander, helping you return to the right path.
Use whatever time you have outside your duties to remember God. Do not waste it thinking about others or becoming absorbed in worldly matters.
Do not postpone your sadhana for old age, as in old age, two difficulties will arise:-
- The body will become weak and afflicted with disease.
- The number of family members will increase, and consequently, your attachments will deepen. As a result, it will become even more difficult to detach your mind from them.
You have only one mind.
saba kara mamatā tāga baṭorī। mama pada kamala bāṃdhu baṭa ḍorī॥ -
Withdraw all your attachments from the material world and attach your mind solely to God.
You must be alert and practice this continuously.
