Understanding the Secret of Dhanteras
Dhanteras message -
Today is the festival of Dhanteras, when Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped. Mahalakshmi appeared from the left side of Shri Radharani, while Mahavishnu appeared from the left side of Lord Krishna. Although Lakshmi is eternal, just like the Lord, She appeared as one of the fourteen divine treasures during the churning of the ocean as part of the Lord's divine Leela. She then offered a garland to the Lord and chose Him as Her husband. So, Shri Krishna has always kept Lakshmi on His left side. The Kaustubh gem adorns His right side, while the footprint of Sage Bhrigu is in the middle. Although Lakshmi is known to be very restless, She always remains on the left side of the Lord. People call worldly possessions such as gold, silver, money, and land Lakshmi. But these are not Lakshmi; they are Maya. A person who possesses worldly wealth is not Lakshmipati (the possessor of spiritual wealth) but Mayapati (the possessor of Maya). Lakshmi is God's internal divine power. She bestows divine bliss, not material happiness.
Therefore, devote yourself to Radha-Krishna Bhakti. Countless Durgas, Lakshmis, and Kubers will then come to you uninvited. But never disrespect anyone. Greet and respect everyone, but surrender your mind and intellect only to Radha-Krishna and Guru. Understand this secret of Dhanteras.
