When we were born, we were completely innocent and guileless. We did not know how to doubt, nor did we think of questioning anything. We believed everything, just like Valmiki believed his Guru's words - 'Keep chanting "mara mara" until I return.' He simply accepted it. He did not even ask his Guru when he would return - he made no arguments, counter-arguments, or excessive reasoning, and he did not have a trace of doubt or suspicion. In our country, only those who became as innocent as a newborn attained God-realization. If we, too, can become that innocent, we will not apply our intellect to the teachings of our Guru and have complete and 'permanent' faith in everything that He says. It won't be like we have faith one moment and lack faith the next moment.
Valmiki's Guru merely asked him to chant 'mara mara,' yet he did not question it with his intellect. However, Shri Maharaj Ji has explained everything to us using logic, quoting from scriptures and the Vedas, in every possible way, about what we must do, why we must do it, and how to do it. Still, we either do not practice or become tired after doing sadhana for just a brief while. When the pandit gave Dhanna Jat a stone and told him it was God Himself, he believed his words completely. So that very stone became God. But when we met God Himself, we considered Him to be stone. In this way, we have accumulated namaparadh. Our mind has become so polluted by the material world. Since people in the world deceive each other, our intellect, too, has become filled with deceit and trickery. And out of habit, we also apply the same deceptive intellect to saints and God. Upon seeing God in His countless incarnations and encountering innumerable saints, each time we doubted them and argued, using our intellect. During Shri Krishna's descension, we said, "He's eating the food He snatched from the mouths of Gopas - how can He be God? How foolish are the people who consider Him God." Similarly, during each incarnation of God, for each of His actions, we thought, "Why does He do this?" We neither accepted God nor the saints as being beyond our intellect. That is why we remain stuck where we are.
This is Vedavyasa's atomic statement - Yaśca mūḍhatamo loke yaśca buddheḥ paraṅgataḥ -
Only two types of people can attain God -
- One who is the most foolish, with no one more guileless than they are, or
- The one who is such a great scholar that they renounce all learning and become foolish again.
Therefore, the devotee says, "O Lord! I take great pride in myself and believe I know everything. Please make me innocent like a newborn once again. You belong to the innocent! The simple farmer Dhanna Jat attained You by being innocent. Please remove all the shrewdness I learned from books and people for my material and physical pleasures - now, please end all my false pride! Make me innocent again!"

The Mind Is the Battlefield- The Eternal Conflict Between Desire and Detachment
The scriptures and Vedas present two seemingly contradictory statements. One states that detachment from the world must happen first, while the other declares that attachment to God must come first. In explaining this, Shri Maharaj Ji has emphasized a crucial point - both detachment and attachment happen only in the
