Yajjñātvā -

  • Our relationship with Shri Krishna is eternal and everlasting; it is self-established.
  • The path to realize this relationship is Navadhā Bhakti, the ninefold path of devotion.
  • The goal is prem (divine love).
  • What is to be attained is the service of Shri Krishna.

So our relationship is only with Shri Krishna, and Bhakti is the bridge for that relationship. For this, we do not need to beg.

There is a very important verse -
Tatte'nukampāṁ susamīkṣamāṇo bhuñjāna evātmakṛtaṁ vipākam
Hṛd vāgvapurbhirvidadhannamas te jīveta yo mukti pade sa dāyabhāk (Bhagavatam)

One who lives life following these four principles is a dāyabhāk.
Dāyabhāk means heir or inheritor. We are the inheritors of God's property.
Amṛtasya vai putrāḥ.
If we attain His property through begging, it is an insult to Him as well as to us, because we are His heirs.
To become an heir, four conditions must be fulfilled -

  1. Tatte'nukampāṁ susamīkṣamāṇaḥ - Wait for His grace
  • The devotee keeps waiting for God's grace, anticipating His compassion.
  • He does not object, "Why has grace not come yet?"
  • The feeling should always be: "The shortcoming is only in my waiting."
Never think: "So many days have passed waiting - what kind of merciful God is He?"
  1. Bhuñjāna evātmakṛtaṁ vipākam - Joyfully accept your prārabdha, destiny
  • Joyfully accept the happiness and sorrow arising from prārabdh given by God. We naturally accept happiness joyfully, but we must also accept sorrow 'joyfully.'
  • When you lose your worldly possessions or dear ones, do not think, "This is bad" - because it is done by God. Life and death are not in any human being's hands.
  • Do not become angry with God or object to His will. Joyfully accept this prasād given by Him.

Similarly, when your Guru scolds you for your mistake, feel blessed that he has so much affection for you, how much care He has for you that He will not allow any mistake to remain in you. Think, "He thought about my mistake, caught it, and then pointed it out. Ah! How fortunate I am!"

  1. Hṛd vāgvapurbhirvidadhannamas te - Worship Him with senses, mind, and intellect
  • Hṛd (with the heart): Consider Shri Krishna as your own, increase your love, and surrender to Him.
  • Vāk (with speech): chant His names and so forth.
  • Vapurbhiḥ (with the body): Perform whatever service is possible. And until you attain God, serve the Guru. Both yield the same fruit.

But in all these, the attachment of the mind is the main thing. Without attachment of the mind, it cannot be called sādhana.

  1. Jīveta - Also remain alive.

One who fulfills these four conditions is a dāyabhāk, an inheritor. That means the object (love, prem) will come to you automatically.

So the conclusion is this -
Your mind is impure. It will become purified through sādhanā Bhakti. As soon as the mind gets purified, the veil of the three modes of Maya will be removed. Now the pure sattva of the chit-shakti enters your mind along with hlādinī, sandhinī, and saṁvit shaktis, thus making your mind divine. Thus, you will automatically receive the essence of hlādinī-shakti, which is love. There is no need for you to do anything for that.

Uttarāccedāvirbhūtasvarūpastu।
Divine love will manifest itself. But removing this veil is your work.

So complete knowledge of sambandha (relationship), abhidheya (means), and prayojana (goal) is essential. While listening to tattvajñāna, you get a slight understanding. However, when you contemplate, reflect, and repeatedly revise this knowledge, it will become firmly established in your intellect. The firmer it becomes, the closer you will come to Shri Krishna.

You have been told about the relationship - that the soul has only one relationship, and that is with Shri Krishna. The soul is a part of Shri Krishna, His son, born from Him. So, the soul is much like God - there are just a few differences.

Now, understand those differences, too.
Viṣṇushaktiḥ parā proktā kṣetrajñākhyā tathā'parā।
Avidyā karmasañjñānyā tṛtīyā śaktiriṣyate॥ (Viṣṇu Purāṇa)
God has three shaktis -
i) Parā Shakti (swaroop shakti) - This is God's antaraṅga shakti - internal personal power.
ii) Jīva shakti - This is taṭastha shakti (intermediate power).
iii) Maya shakti - This is bahiraṅga shakti (external power).

Why is jīva shakti (the individual soul) called taṭastha (intermediate)?

  • Jīva shakti cannot be considered part of God's personal power, parā shakti, because the para shakti has swaroop shakti in it. And those who have swaroop shakti are the governors, rulers, and the ones who give power. Soul, on the other hand, is governed. God is omniscient, whereas the soul is ignorant. God is almighty, the soul is powerless. God is the father, the soul is the son. God is the master, the soul is the servant.
  • It also cannot be considered part of Maya shakti because Maya is inert, and jīva is conscious.
  • Taṭasthatvaṁ ca ubhayakoṭā va praveśāt।
That is, the soul is taṭastha (intermediate) because it belongs neither to the Brahm nor to Maya.

Svakṛtapureṣvamīṣva bahirantara saṁvaraṇam।
So parā shakti is antaraṅga shakti - this is the power of Yogmaya.

You have all three shaktis within you. You do not need to go to find them outside -

  • Ya ātmani tiṣṭhati - God with His para shakti is seated within you.
  • You are jīva shakti yourself.
  • Maya controls you, so Maya is also within you.
So you are a combination of all three powers.

Not only you, but God is also a combination of all three, and Maya is also the combination of all three. The three powers reside in each other. That is why it is said -
Kimatad vastu rūpyatām
There is nothing other than Shri Krishna. Everything is His power and is under Him. There is no other entity.
Everything is Shri Krishna alone - vāsudevaḥ sarvamiti.

But from the point of view of powers, there is also a very big difference.

God's parā shakti has three outcomes (which the scriptures call vibhāv) -
i) Chit shakti - that is, swaroop shakti or personal power, which includes Hlādinī, Sandhinī, and Saṁvit shakti
ii) Jīva shakti
iii) Maya shakti

Parāsyaśaktirvividhaiva śrūyate svābhāvikī jñānabalakriyā ca
Parā shakti has three prabhāvs - external expressions -
i) Jñāna (knowledge) - yaḥ sarvajñaḥ sarvavidyasya jñānamayaṁ tapaḥ
ii) Icchā (will) - so'kāmayat। bahu syāṁ prajāyeyeti, sa vai naiva reme tasmādekākī na ramate sa dvitīyamaicchat etc.
iii) Kriyā (action) - God creates the universe, descends into the world, and performs many actions, etc.

The three bhāvs of Parā shakti are:
i) Sat (existence)
ii) Chit (consciousness)
iii) Ānanda (bliss)
That is why God is called saccidānanda.

The bhāv of bhāv is called anubhāv. So the three bhāvs of parā shakti have three anubhāvs -
i) Sandhinī - This is the anubhāv of sat bhāv.
ii) Saṁvit - This is the anubhāv of chit bhāv.
iii) Hlādinī - This is the anubhāv of ānanda bhāv.

Now let us look at the three main powers individually - Chit shakti, Jīva shakti, Maya shakti.

The outcomes of the anubhāvs of the three shaktis (Chit, Jīva, Maya):

  1. From the anubhāv of Chit shakti (Parā shakti):
    (i) From sandhinī anubhāv, Shri Krishna's name, form, līlā, qualities, dhām (Golok), etc. are created. The entire paravyoma loka consists of divine realm - within that are Golok, Vaikunth, Shivlok, Sāket lok, Devī lok, and so on - the abodes of God's descensions that are beyond Maya. Everything of God is eternal, but they are manifested from sandhinī shakti. Chit shakti is the form of Radharani. Sandhinī shakti is a part of Kishori Ji, which gave Shri Krishna a form, name, qualities, pastimes, and so on. It is through Sandhinī shakti that the almighty God performs all his wonderful actions. Otherwise, He would remain only as the formless, attribute-less Brahm. Then we would not receive His name, form, pastimes, qualities, abode, or the bliss of divine love - nothing at all.
