Daily Devotion - Feb 7, 2026 (English)- Tomorrow’s Trap

You perform all worldly tasks immediately - material work that yields material results - yet you postpone anything related to God.

In childhood, you say, "This is the time to eat and play. This is no time for chanting Ram Ram, Shyam Shyam, Radhey Radhey."

When youth arrives, people walk with arrogance and mock God and the saints. Even someone who is completely hopeless looks at himself in the mirror during youth and declares, "I look so handsome even with just one eye. Imagine how I would look with both eyes!"

Prahlad said, 'kaumāra ācaret prājño dharmān bhāgavatāniha' - become cautious and practice devotion in childhood itself. Otherwise, everything goes astray in the intoxication of youth. No one has been born who has not succumbed to pride during youth. Flexing his muscles, one declares, "These are made of iron!"

Prahlad advises us to take the medicine before the disease of youth arrives, just as people in the world get vaccinated to prevent diseases.
And if you did not practice devotion earlier and youth has already arrived, then -
"yuvaiva dharmaśīla: syāt anityaṃ khalu jīvitam"
Do what must be done during youth itself, because in old age the body becomes extremely troublesome. In old age, new ailments arise one after another. Brahma has created this body in such a complex manner that even a small malfunction in any part causes the entire body to suffer.

Moreover, the most important point is that no one's lifespan is guaranteed. Some die immediately after birth, while others die at twenty-five. You witness deaths every day, yet those who are alive do not consider that they too may depart at any moment.

In essence, you postpone matters related to God while attending to worldly work immediately. You are always ready to dedicate your body, mind, and wealth to worldly pursuits. But when it comes to spiritual matters, people make excuses, saying, "I am suffering business losses right now." This is nothing but worldly attachment.

The scriptures and the Vedas teach that although this human body is coveted even by the celestial gods, you do not know when it may be taken away. A perfectly healthy person goes to sleep at night and never wakes up. Therefore, you must stop procrastinating devotion.
