Daily Devotion - Feb 23, 2026 (English)- The Court of Unlimited Grace
There are three types of courts:
- The Court of Justice - This is the court of Shri Krishna, where only justice is administered. God says:
Samoham sarva-bhūteṣu na me dveṣyo’sti na priyaḥ
"I am equally disposed toward all beings; no one is hateful to Me, and no one is dear to Me." I am impartial. No one is My own, and no one is a stranger. Since I need nothing from anyone, no one is My friend. And since no one can harm Me in any way, I have no enemies. This is God as the judge. - The Court of Injustice -
This is the court where injustice prevails. It exists in this world, where people accuse others even when they themselves are at fault. Wherever there is attachment, a person commits injustice rather than justice. - The Court of Unlimited Grace -
This is the court of Radharani, where grace is bestowed unconditionally. Grace is showered even upon those who are unqualified to receive it. For example, Mother Yashoda attained the same abode as the demoness Putana, who tried to kill Shri Krishna. In this court, some pretext or another is found to bestow grace, just as an ant cools itself from the heat beneath the feet of an elephant.
Kishori Ji's court is exclusively the court of grace. Justice is not dispensed here as it is in Shri Krishna's court. Shri Krishna requires one whose mind is pure -
nirmala mana jana so mohi pāvā
Since the Guru has remained within the category of a soul bound by māyā, he knows how much effort it takes to become pure. Therefore, the Guru patiently bears the disciple's faults, assumes the role of a mother, undertakes all the labor to purify the soul, and places that soul in the lap of God. After this, God embraces the soul in His heart.
This is why the position of the Guru is considered greater than that of God, because it is through the Guru that you can attain your ultimate goal. Thakur Ji is the companion of those whose mind is already pure.
Slaying demons, creating the universe, and protecting it are all tasks performed by Shri Krishna. Radharani does not engage in any of these activities. Kishori Ji only bestows Her grace and embraces fallen souls to Her heart.
When even a worldly mother is an embodiment of compassion, what can be said about Radharani, who is our divine and eternal mother and an embodiment of eternal divine bliss and divine knowledge? Her court is one of unconditional grace. If you engage in devotional practice even to a small extent, the shower of Her grace begins.
An episode from history illustrates this unconditional grace:
Jayant, the son of Indra, took the form of a crow and pecked Mother Sita's chest right in front of Shri Ram. This angered Lord Ram; that is, he feigned anger to punish Jayant, because the Supreme Lord does not truly become angry but assumes anger to reform a soul. He released an arrow after him. Jayant fled and ran throughout the three worlds. He approached Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, but none of them offered him shelter. All of them said, "This is a matter of the central authority. The Supreme Power has released an arrow against you. We are only provincial authorities; we cannot intervene."
Then Narad Ji advised him to fall at Mother Sita's feet.
When he fell at Sita Ji's feet, the Mother said to Shri Ram, "Please forgive him. Shri Ram refused, saying that if he were forgiven, he would commit the offence again.
Then Mother Sita asked Shri Ram -
na kaścinnāparādhyati?
"Is there anyone in this world - in the past, present, or future-who can remain free from offence without receiving Your grace? Until Your grace descends and māyā is dispelled, everyone commits offences. It is māyā that causes one to offend."
Upon hearing this, Shri Ram fell silent and forgave Jayant.
That same Sita appeared as Radharani. Hers is the court of unconditional grace.
