Daily Devotion -Apr 5, 2026 (English)- Final Preparation
Anyone who comes to this world must leave one day, whether it is a soul bound by Maya, saints who are beyond Maya (who come and go at will for the welfare of souls), or God who governs Maya (Who comes whenever the need arises).
Just as you prepare before travelling somewhere in this world, you should prepare before leaving this world (for the soul's journey). Be alert and prepare at least enough to receive a human body again, so you can take your devotional practice forward and attain God one day.
When someone passes away in this world, we say "Ram Naam Satya Hai" (God is the truth). The meaning behind this saying should be two-fold -
- This body is transient. No matter who you are, you are bound to lose this body one day.
- We should also think of quickly earning spiritual merit and securing our future. After thousands and millions of births, we have received this human body for the service of God and Guru. But we serve the world with our body, mind, and wealth instead. We give twenty hours a day to the body, but we give only a little time to the soul. This is a very grave negligence. At the very least, we should dedicate 50% to the body and 50% to devotion to God, i.e., to the soul.
In infinite births, you remained careless whenever you got a human body. By acting negligently, you left this world, and after leaving, you repented, thinking I lost the human body; neither did I utilize it for God, nor did I serve the Guru; I only served the world. The world is selfish; everyone here is engrossed in their own self-interest. So you must stop being careless now.
Prahlad said - "kaumāra ācaret prājño dharmān bhāgavatāniha " - Start your devotional practice in your childhood itself; who knows if you will attain youth? And if you do get to the stage of youth, practice devotion then itself. Do not leave devotional practice for old age. It becomes very difficult to do sadhana in old age. For one thing, the body becomes weak and disease-ridden. Secondly, attachment to the world becomes very strong. It is very difficult to develop detachment then.
Now, you have understood the philosophical knowledge that this human body is not meant for the enjoyment of the senses; the real happiness of the soul lies in God. But merely understanding won't suffice. Every moment, people are dying in this world. So whenever someone dies, you must immediately become alert and abandon carelessness, realising that you, too, may have to leave at any time. Be vigilant, and immediately engage yourselves in devotion.
